Common questions about our process and how we work with clients.

I’ve never managed a renovation before. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Most of our clients are building or renovating for the first time. We’ll walk you through the process and keep everything structured and easy to follow.

Can we have a quick chat before I commit to anything?

Absolutely. Our first meeting is obligation-free — and we usually prefer to do it on site rather than a phone call. It’s a chance to walk through what you’re thinking, ask a few questions, and work out whether we’re the right fit before we go any further.

Do you charge for quotes?

No — we don’t charge for initial consultations or estimates. If the project is a good match, we’ll prepare a clear proposal so you know what’s involved.

What should I include when I get in touch?

If you’ve already got plans or drawings, feel free to include them. If not, just give us a rough outline of your project, your location, and your timeline — we’ll guide you from there.

Do you work with owner-builders or partial contracts?

No — we manage the full build from start to finish. That allows us to control quality, timelines, and the overall experience.

How soon can we start?

We’re often booked several months in advance. The earlier we start the conversation, the better we can plan your timeline.

How far ahead should I book a project?

We typically book 3–6 months in advance. If you’re planning a build, the earlier we talk, the better we can schedule it properly.

What types of projects do you take on?

We focus on high-quality residential renovations, extensions, and the occasional knockdown-rebuild. If it’s a design-led project with clear plans, we’re interested.

Do you work outside Canberra?

Our core work is in the Canberra region. For the right project, we’re open to nearby areas — just reach out for a quick chat.

Can you help with sustainable or passive builds?

Yes. We have a strong interest in energy-efficient, sustainable building and can work with your designer to meet those goals. Our builds already lean that way by default.

What areas of construction do you specialise in?

We focus on residential renovations, extensions, and select knockdown-rebuilds. Our work leans toward the higher end of the market, often involving design-led plans and detailed finishes.

Can you recommend architects or draftspeople?

Yes — we regularly collaborate with a number of designers and can point you in the right direction depending on the type of build you’re planning.

Do you offer fixed quotes or estimates?

That depends on the stage of the project. Once we’ve reviewed your plans and scope, we’ll provide a detailed quote or estimate. We’re upfront about costs and timelines before anything begins.

Can I live in the house during the build?

It’s actually something we’ve become quite good at. Sometimes it depends on the type and stage of work, but it’s pretty rare that someone has to move out while a renovation or extension is underway. If the site can be vacated it definitely allows for a more efficient build — either way, we’ll talk it through early and help plan what’s realistic.
